GREGORY BUCK
Co-Founder
Clinical Psychologist
I completed my undergraduate and higher degree training in psychology over the course of a decade whilst working as a secondary teacher. I progressed to senior psychologist positions across sectors (Department of Education and Training), and public mental health including roles in early psychosis and adult mental health. Alongside, I worked in group private practice (Kaye Frankcom & Associates) and also for headspace National, leading an evidence-based review of a national mental health initiative for secondary schools.
I have a long interest in the nexus between mental health and high-performance sports. I worked over many years with professional and semi-professional sports men and women. During this period, I became one of the first clinical psychologists to work full-time within an AFL club with roles across player and staff welfare, performance, and recruitment.
I have a faculty position at the Cairnmiller Institute preparing graduate trainees for the demands of modern practice. You can find more details by clicking here.
I am a versatile psychologist. I offer treatment for discrete and complex clinical concerns or long-term psychotherapy targeting a range of life-stage issues or inner struggles. My practice is influenced by modern cognitive and behavioural approaches (particularly Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and integrative approaches namely Schema therapy. I draw widely from the insights of other traditions including humanistic, psychodynamic and existential.
