DR ASHLYN HANSEN
Clinical Psychologist
I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to understand their unique lived experiences and support them to experience their world with more fulfilment and freedom. I am a clinical psychologist with experience providing individual and group therapy across public and private settings. In my work I take a position of openness, curiosity, genuineness and respect, to create a safe space for clients to explore past and current challenges.
I am particularly interested in the areas of attachment, intimacy, and navigating relationships. My approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Schema Therapy modalities, in order to create a personalised plan for treatment. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
I work with clients experiencing a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, difficulties with emotion regulation, relationships and interpersonal issues, and problems relating to identity, self-esteem, and self-worth.
I am neurodiversity affirming, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, welcoming of diverse relationship structures, and sex positive.
